The world looks different, and so does the Podcastfestival in 2020. This third edition will take place on 18 and 19 September, in four cities at the same time, online and offline. For the first time we are offering English spoken programme, presented in cooperation with Domino Sound.
18 september: Podcast conference
On September 18, for the first time during the Podcastfestival, a podcasting conference takes place in the Tolhuistuin This day is geared towards those who are, or would like to be, professionally involved with podcasting. There are three tracks: Innovation (in Dutch), Storytelling (in Dutch) and Claiming Space (in English). Due to the measures surrounding COVID-19 it is not possible to swap tracks during the day. The conference ticket includes an online visit to the festival on September 19 and the virtual opening night of the festival on September 18. If you want to attend the programme on Saturday in Tolhuistuin you’ll need to buy a separate ticket.
18 september: opening night
On 18 September at 8 pm the festival site podcastfestival.nl will be opened festively. Tatjana Wehrmann and Sander Smale, who won the pitching competition at last year’s festival, will premiere their podcast The White Cane – about the experience of being visually impaired in the Dutch context. After this De Eeuw van de Amateur podcast will interview both Tatjana Wehrmann and Sander Smale and Domino Sound, the curators of the English-language program. The opening night can be followed entirely virtually via podcastfestival.nl. For this part of the program there are no separate tickets for sale, but it is included in all tickets (conference, location and online) types.
19 september: Podcastfestival
The Podcast Festival takes place in four cities simultaneously: Groningen, Utrecht, Nijmegen and Amsterdam. There is limited space at all locations, and only the Tolhuistuin (Amsterdam) programme features English spoken content. If you buy a ticket for one of the locations you can physically attend the program there all day long and you have access to the online festival where you can digitally experience what is happening at the other locations. It is also possible to buy an online ticket only, which gives you access to the online festival so you can listen to the entire program at the different locations and the online only program.
